The olive wood items are under the brand ArteLegno produced in Assisi, in the central part of Italy, with old olive tree wood branches in Italy and by local wood crafters. The harvest of wood in Italy is limited in order to protect the forest and olive tree harvest work is restricted by licensing. 

 

All olive wood items are handcrafted and polished. Form, color and pattern vary as they are natural products.

 

No chemical coating is applied. Only seed oil is applied to protect the wood from dry air. 

 

Certified as allow in contact with food.

 

The old olive wood is anti-bacterial and high density that allow quick-dry. Mold by fungi was not found when we tested an item in humid area in certain period. 

 

As the olive tree is old and big, the wood texture would be different at different part of the tree. Stagioni preferably selects the wood items to be exported.
